Cristina Ungureanu has worked in international corporate and academic environments in South Africa, United Kingdom and Italy, providing high-level consulting, project management, corporate client relationship and research to a diverse range of institutions.
Cristina holds a Bachelor Degree in Economics, a Master’s Degree in International Affairs and a PhD in Finance.
Soon after graduation in 2001, she started her career with Georgeson Shareholder Communication in Johannesburg as Key Foreign Account Executive and Director Corporate Advisory, five years later moving to London as Head of Corporate Meetings at Computershare Investor Services. Her London experience continued as Senior Associate Investor Relations with Taylor Rafferty, a US investor relations consultancy.
In 2007 she moved from UK to Italy, working in Genoa and Milan as consultant and research coordinator on various international corporate governance projects. She collaborated, among others, with the European Corporate Governance Institute, the University of Genoa and of Pavia, the Italian Association of Listed companies, the European Commission and the European Parliament. In 2012 Cristina joined Crisci & Partners, an independent professional firm specialized in Board Governance consulting, as senior Consultant and Researcher.
In 2013 Cristina was appointed by Sodali, global corporate governance and shareholder services consultancy, as Head of Corporate Governance Advisory. She has been in charge of Sodali’s global governance projects and provides advice to clients on a range of issues relating to governance, remuneration, communication, board of directors composition and board assessment.
From October 2015, Cristina is Head of Corporate Governance at Eurizon Capital SGR, the asset management company of Intesa Sanpaolo Bank group, being responsible for Corporate Governance, Engagement, Stewardship and Responsible Investment, promoting strong Corporate Governance and ESG practices within investee companies.
Cristina is author of many publications on corporate governance and financial regulation and is often invited at international conferences to present on related topics.
